APRIL CELEBRATION

FIRST DANCE OF SEASON TAKAPUNA BOATING CLUB To celebrate the first of April a most successful and well-attended dance was held by tho Takapuna Boating Club members at the clubhouse, Bayswater, on Saturday evening. As the function was the first of its kind to be held this season representatives from other clubs were present. Tho music was pro\ ided by the Metropole Danco Band. During the dances two little girls, in swings suspended from tho ceiling, sprinkled confetti and novelties on the dancers below. Among those present were: —Mrs. Harold Carr, who wore cardinal red lace with a black velvet coatee; Mrs. Ward, black crinkled velvet and fische net- Mrs. C. Kirkham, Chinese red lace and' georgette; Mrs. Deacon, buttercup satin; Mrs. Braund, peacock blue crepe fieuri; Mrs. Inkster, black georgette; Mrs. J. Verran, black Chantdly lace; Mrs! J. Thompson, eau do nil lace; Mrs. Harrison, floral georgette; Mrs. Dryland, black moire velvet and ecru lace; Mrs. Bennett, black taffeta; Mrs. Wheeler, blue and gold embossed georgette; Mrs. Bach, black georgette with a purple-shaded shawl; Miss Marjorio Ward, black ring velvet and white net; A!iss Tucker, caineo pink georgette; Miss Dorothy Lewis, blue crepe de chine and hailstone muslin; Miss Dransfield, cream crepe suede; Miss Aitkcn, floral taffeta; Miss Joy Verran, parchment floral taffeta; Miss Joan Brown, delphinium blue flat crepe; Miss Marjorie Brown, white satin wit/ii oj jade green; Miss J.
