SETTLER'S HOUSE BURNED
FEW ARTICLES SAVED [by TELEGRAPH— OWN CORRESPONDENT] WARKWORTH, Wednesday A fire at North Albertland, near Wellsford, early this morning resulted in the destruction of a five-roomed house, owned and occupied by Mr. C. W. Embling, a recent arrival in the district. Mrs. Embling and the children are away for a few days. Mr. Embling made himself a cup of tea before going to milk and left his breakfast cooking. About an hour later Mrs. F. Powell, a neighbour, noticed smoke issuing from the kitchen. She immediately informed Mr. Embling and ho and neighbours quickly arrived on the scene, but it was impossible to save more than a few personal effects. The insurances aro not available, but Mr. Embling is believed to be a heavy loser.
