CONSULAR SERVICE

UNITED STATES OFFICIALS AUCKLAND APPOINTMENT To tako up his position as United States vice-consul at Auckland and assistant to the consul, Mr. Walter F. Boyle, Mr. Walter W. Hoffman arrived at Auckland by tho Lurline yesterday. Mr. Hoffman has spent many years in Central America and entered tho Consular Service at Costa Rica. He was attached to tho State Department, at Washington before leaving for Auckland. Mr. M. A. Colebrook, who was recently appointed United States vice-consul at Brisbane, is also a passenger by the Lurline. Ho is on his way to take up his new position after serving for some years at Haiti.
