CHARGE OF MURDER
THE NEW PLYMOUTH TRAGEDY ACCUSED AGAIN REMANDED [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION*] NEW PLYMOUTH. Friday Hubert Cedric Jepson appeared on remand before Mr. 11. W. Tate, S.M., in the Police Court to-day, charged with the murder of his wife, Lilian Violet Jepson, on September 15. On tho application of tho police ho was again remanded until September 28.
Early on the morning of Thursday, September 15, Hubert Cedric Jepson, aged 39, surrendered himself at the police station at New Plymouth, stating that he had slain his wife and children. He was detained in custody. Detective Meiklejohn and Constable Mitchell, accompanied by a doctor, at once went to Jepson's house in Frankley Road. There they found Mrs. Jepson and her infant son, John, in bed dead, and the other son, Robert Cedric Jepson, aged 12 years, still breathing, but with a badly-fractured skull. Ho was at once removed to the hospital, where ho was operated on, but died at 1.30 in the afternoon.
