WOMEN'S DIVISION
FARMERS' UNION A well-attended and very successful meeting of the Oncwliero branch was presided over by Mrs. Gutry. Mrs. Henderson gave a clear and interesting demonstration of moccasin-making. A wool quilt which has been in use for many years was exhibited, also a handsome rag rug and laminated wool. Knitted squares were brought by members to be mado into a quilt, which is to bo given to the Pukekolie Welfare League. Items were contributed by" Misses R. Dyer and K. Sproggon. The hostesses wcro Mrs. Bates and Miss Martindale.
MAUNGAKARAMEA A well-attended meeting of tho Maungakaramea branch of tlie Women's Division was held at the residence of Mrs. J. T. Walker, and was presided over by Mr. T. E. Porter, president. During tthe afternoon quilts made by members for the Whangarei unemployed were displayed. Nurse Thomas, of the Plunket Society, Whangarei, addressed tho meeting on "First Aid Home Treatments." A "bring and buy" sale realised 10s, which was donated to the Plunket Society. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Walker, Halliday and Wenzlick. PUKEKAWA. At the monthly meeting of the Pukekawa branch of tho division Mrs. E. H Mason, vice-president, presided over a good attendance of members. A quantity of warm clothing was contributed for welfare work. An amusing competition was won by Mrs. A. Cameron, and a demonstration. in moccasin-making was given by Miss Hall. Hostesses were Mesdames J. Elwin, 0. Brewster and G. Bell.
