CURE FOR HEADACHE
TWO GLASSES OF WATER ENGLISH LECTURER'S ADVICE "The value of drinking plenty of water cannot be stressed too much," said Dr. Vere Poliss, a visiting English lecturer, in an address entitled, "Cause and Cure of Most Common Diseases," given at the Unity Hall last evening. Mr. F. Dawson presided. It was possible to cure a headache by drinking two glasses of water, warm or cold, said the lecturer. Few people realised tho value of lemon juice. Both water and lemon juice were of great benefit to sufferers from rheumatism. Tho statement sometimes made that lemons formed more acids in the system was incorrect j it became an alkali. If people with rheumatism were willing to bear the initial pain which treatment with lemon juice entailed, they would benefit greatly in the end. Moreover, lemon could be used in many instances as a substitute for vinegar. "Many of the old, well-known remedies are better than the majority of modern medicines," Dr. Poliss added. . The third of the series of six addresses ■will be given in the Unity Hall this evening. It is entitled "Quickest, Surest Way to Success."
