WOMEN'S DIVISION

FARMERS' UNION There was an attendance of about £>o members at a meeting of the Putaruru Women's Division. Remits in connection with the recent conference and tho general balance-sheet from headquarters wero discussed. Thlee new members, Mesdames liainford and Drunnnond and Miss Alcorn, were welcomed to the division. At the close of the meeting Mrs. Bishop, president of tho Tirau branch, gave an interesting account of the recent conference. The cooking competition staged by the junior division resulted in Miss F. Lopdell gaining first prize and Miss Margaret Baldwin second. 'Mesdames Ward, Rutledge, Lake and \\ hite were hostesses for tho afternoon. An unusually brisk business was done at tho largo exchange stall. TANEATUA Mrs. G race presided over the monthly meeting of the Tancatua branch of the Women's Division of tho Farmers' Union held recently. It was decided to hold a flag " 500 " evening at a later date. Mrs. E. Hill, vice-president, read a report on tho annual conference. The same member was winner of two competitions. Afternoon tea was served by Mosdamcs Hayward and Maddock.
