Mr. J. N. Massey, M.P., returned to Auckland from Wellington on Saturday. Mr. A. J. Fernie, Consul for the Netherlands at Wellington, has been officially gazetted as Consul. Dr. D. N. Eppstein, assistant medical superintendent of the Christchurch Hospital, has resigned in order to enter into private practice. Mr. Thomas Kelly has been appointed a member of the Rotorua Licensing Committee to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr. H. R. Macdonald. Mr. and Mrs. «T. Yock, who have been on an extended tour of Britain and the East, will return to Auckland by the Mariposa to-morrow. They will be accompanied by their son, Mr. M, Yock. Dr. S. R. Cattrell has been appointed senior physician on the honorary staff of the Wellington Hospital for the ensuing two years. Dr. T. S. Norm has resigned his position as senior house surgeon at the Wellington Hospital.
