MOTOR-CYCLIST INJURED
THROWN IN FRONT OF LORRY RUN OVER BY ONE WHEEL Severe infernal injuries were received by Mr. Ray .Allan, aged 21, single, of Garfield Road, Helensville, when he was run over by a motor-lorrv on the Great North Road, about a mile and a-lhalf north of Helensville, yesterday afternoon. Mr. Allan, who is on the staff of lbs Post and Telegraph Department at Helensville, was riding y ix motor-cycle along the main road and when rounding a bend his machine skidded on some loose metal and he was thrown heavily on to the roadway right In front of a cream lorry, driven by Mr. A. Clinton-Davies. The lorry was travelling at,a slow speed, and although it was brought to a standstill within a short distance, the driver could not avoid an accident, and one of the front wheels went over Mr. Allan. Tlie St. John ambulance was summoned and the injured man was brought to the Auckland Hospital. His condition, at a lata hour last evening was serious.
