THEFT BY YOUNG GIRL
"QUITE OUT OF CONTROL" .SISTER'S FURNITURE STOLEN A charge of stealing furniture, bedding and clothing to the value of £SO from the home of her sister was admitted by Violfet Cooper, aged 17, domestic, in the Police Court _vesterday, before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M. Detective-Sergeant Kelly said the furnishings were the property of accused's sister. During the sister's absence accused atole the furnishings and sold them to an auctioneer. Major Annie Gordon, probation officer, said accused was quite out of control. She should be sent to the Borstal, as it /Was impossible for an ordinary institution to keep her. "Her recent history suggests that this course is necessary," the magistrate said, in sentencing accused to two years' detention in the Borstal Institute.
