WHANGAREI BOROUGH.
DISPOSAL OF SEWAGE. HARBOUR BOARD OBJECTION. / v [from orn own correspondent.] WHAXGAREI, Tuesday. The Whangarei Borough Council, at* its meeting last evening, received a letter from/the Whangarei Harbour Board submitting a report from the board's engineer dealing with the present system of disposing of the town sewage. The report contended that tho sewage was not being treated strictly in accordance with the system originally approved, and the board therefore lodged its objection. The Harbour Board realised, however, that' the present was not opportune for the undertaking of any alteration of the council's drainage works. The '"report was referred to the Works Committee for a full report.
The secretary of the Whangarei Volunteer F)re Brigade submitted a recommendation regarding control of traffic when a fire alarm has been given. The recommendation was referred to a special committee for consideration, and for the drafting of a. suitable by-law.
