MOUNT EDEN BURGLARIES.

VISITS PAID TO SHOPS. JEWELLERY TAKEN FROM HOUSE. Thieves have been active in the Mount Eden district during the past few days. The proprietors of a pharmacy and a greengrocery shop, near the old tram terminus, found yesterday morning that their shops had been entered through skylight windows and the premises ransacked. The thieves did not obtain any money from either shop, but the stocks were disturbed and a number of small articles removed from each, the total losses amounting to about £5. The previous day a house in Pencarrow Avenue was entered through a cellar when the occupants were at the Anzac Day observance at the War Memorial Museum Every room was ransacked, and a quantity of jewellery was stolen.
