FALL FROM A PLANK. PROMPT RESCUE MADE. A seaman on the liner Rangitata, Mr. Edward Kenward, aged 22, fell from a plank yesterday morning as lie was engaged in painting the side of the ship, which is at Central Wharf. He struck the edge of the wharf during his fall and received a cut on the head and an injury to one leg, but was iiblo to hold himself up by a pile after he reached the water. Ho was quickly rescued and taken by (ho St. John Ambulance to the Auckland Hospital, where ho was trea'.cd. A waterside worker, Mr. James Jensen, aged 48, whose homo is at 15, Wilson Street, Grey Lynn, received an injury to one foot when he was working on Queen's Wharf, 110 was also taken by the St. John* Ambulance to the hospital.
