HOME SERVICE.

AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. The Auckl and Home Service Association held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Mrs. Mitchell, president, presiding over a largo attendance. Miss .Janet Wallace, convener ot the Junior Committee, presented her report of the activities of her members. The manager, Mrs. Williamson, reported satisfactory progress for the month, having had 4.3 calls, resulting in 38 engagements. Requests had corno from '.le Aloha, Opotiki and Mount Edgecumbe and many expressions of gratitude had been received from both employers and employees. There appeared a fair number of openings in domestic service for the skilled worker, but, unskilled were very difficult to place. Hope was expressed that as the status of domestic service was raised and the conditions improved more girls would consider faking up the work as a career. Letters from the Christ church ffome Service Association were read, and members were greatly encouraged at the reports of this flourishing body.

Miss Mac Donald was apointed to fill a vacancy on the executive of the association and Mrs. Mitchell was reappointed ns a, delegate to the Nat'onal Council of Women. The jumble sale held I;i^t month was a financial success and if was derided to hold a bridge evening on May 31 to further augment the funds.
