TEMPERANCE UNION.

The monthly meeting of tho Eden branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held in tho Dominion lioad Methodist schoolroom on Wednesday. Mrs. Havr presided. A resolution was adopted protesting against the unjust legislation now before Parliament in regard to the women's unemployment lax and a copy of the resolution is to be forwarded to the Prime Minister. Reports of the last, district executive meeting, School of Methods Conference and the National Council of Women were made and favourably received. An interesting report of the, Dominion Convention, recently held at Wanganui, was given by the union's representative. Several members promised to assist on Poppy Day. Afternoon tea was served.
