NORTH ISLAND SELECTOR. F. E. SUTHERLAND NOMINATED. SEVEN-A-SIDE ARRANGEMENTS. A letter was received from the Now Zealand. Union at last evening's meeting ot the management committee of the Auckland Rugby Union asking for nomination of a selector for the North Island team. It whs resolved to nominate Mr. F. E. Sutherland. It was decided thnl a blazer design bo selected and given to referees who have controlled matches against overseas teams as apart from test matches. The following transfers were approved:— E. C. Evans. Grammar to Manukau; M. W. Bishop, Manukau to College Rifles; C. F. Savory. Marathon to Technical Old Boys; S. (1. Wales, Marathon to Collcgo Rifles; L. W. Stewart, Marathon to College Rifles; H. Manning, Eden to Technical Old Boys; T. 11. Pearce, University to Manukau. The junior management board requested a ruling as to whether points scored by the seventh grade teams counted in the union's grauo points silver football competition. The matter was deferred for a week. Arrangements for the soven-a-side tournament to bo held at Eden Park on Saturday wore finalised. The following draw was made:—Grafton B v. Ponsonby A, 2 p.m., Mr. G. Peace; Grammar Old Boys B v. Grafton A, 2 p.m., Mr. A. E. Austin; Parnell v. Training College B, 2.17 p.m., Mr. J. Malcolm; Ponsonby B v. Training College A, 2.17 p.m., Mr. T. Mahoney; Marist Old Boys v. College Rifles, 2.34 p.m., Mr. W. C. Henderson; Eden v. North Shore, 2.34 p.m., Mr. G. Peace; Grammar Old Boys A v. Technical Old Boyd, 2,51 p.m., Mr. H White; Manukau Rovers v. City, 2.51 p.m., Mr. A. E. Austin.
Referees will take succeeding games as directed on the day. At tho conclusion of the first rounds teams of midget school boys will take both fields for a game, starting at 3,6 p.m. These will be followed by the first of the section semi-finals, which will comprise four teams on each playing area. The first of theße is set down for 3.21 p.m. and the second for 3.38 p.m. At 3.55 tlio boys will change grounds and have another game. At 4.12 p.m. the section finals will bo played, after which the winning team on No. 2 ground will transfer to No. 1 ground and play the final at 4.34 p.m. with the winners of the other section. In all, exclusive of tho school games, 15 matches will be played. Winners of the final will be presented with gold medals.

University, Marist Old Boys v. Technical Old Boys, College Rifles v. Ponsonby. DRURY CLUB RE-FORMED. After a lapso of one season the Drury Rugby Football Club was re-formed at a meeting last week. There was a large attendance and the prospects for the season were stated to be very bright. Mr. 11. Hamilton presided. The following officers were elected:—Patron, Mr. E. Davis; president. Mr. \V. Rugby referees in Canterbury are empowered to allow teams to leave the field at half-time, according to a decision of the Canterbury Rugby Union last evening. Statements were made at the meeting of tho Management Committee that the rule of the English union that teams must remain on the field at half-time was ridiculous, and was an English tradition carried down from distant years, when there was a possibility of teams being "bought over" at half-lime.
