A very successful country week tournament was held in Auckland from .Tuly ir! to IS inclusive. Four Auckland teams and It sub-associations' teams entered at the outset, but tho Thames Association was forced to withdraw. This was an increase of two on entries received for the 10:30 tourney and tho largest number of entries yet received for the tourney. It was to bo'regretted that Tatiranua, AVhakatnne. Rancitaiki and Waihi wore absent for the second successive season. After many unsuccessful applications, the New Zealand ladies' hockey tourney was allotted to Auckland, and proved an outstanding success. Tho balance-sheet shows a satisfactory position. In spit" of all the outstanding expenses, the credit balance of A'3l (is 2d is considered very good.
