AVALON CLUB. The Avalon Pi<*eon Club held a race from Hunterville on Saturday for a trophy donated by the patron, Mr. lE. 7>. Bnddiley. Nine lofts competed. Results: — Messrs. THE HIKURANGI CLUB. [FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDEN T. ] WHANGAREI, Saturday. The Hikurangi Ilomins: Pigeon Club be!J its Youns Birds Derby from Ohakune under very unfavourable conditions. The birds* were liberated at 7 a.m. in mist, which eventually tonrned into rain, and thera was also a head wind. The airline distance was 201 miles, and at 6 p.m. J. Scott's Siivermine arrived and at about. 6.20 AV. Parson's Merry Day was clocked in. These wero the only two birds to reach home the same day.
