LOW WOOL RETURN.
AUCKLAND SEASON TOTAL. DROP OF £13,000 SHOWN. DECLINE IN RECENT YEARS. The continued fall in wool prices this season has resulted in a decline in the aggregate receipts of Auckland growers for Hie season of £13,003, compared with tho figures for the previous season. The drop last season, compared with 1929-30, was £174.911. A complete review of the 1931-32 wool selling season in Auckland is made possible by the receipt of the official returns for the final sale, held on March 19. The offering was considerably heavier than usual, and comprised 20,355 bales, as compared with 16,957 nt- tho final sale last year. The comparative success of that sale probably led many into waiting for the corresponding sale this year. Of last month's offering 16,119 bales were sold at an average of 3.702 cl per lb., compared with 6.54 d a 11). at tho final sale last year and 6.31 d at the corresponding sale of 1930. Including this week's sales 993,146 bales of wool have boon sold in Sydney this season, realising £11.340.000, Tho total of the Australian sales to March 31 was 2,203,367 bales, leaving 405,176 bales for succeeding auctions. It is anticipated that tho total clip will yield about £30,000.000, compared with £27,645,745 last, year and £33,924,062 in the 1929 30 season.
