USES FOR WOOL.
STIMULATING DEMAND. SHOP WINDOW DISPLAYS. Wool, a staple product of the Dominion, is enjoying great publicity by shop-window displays since the inauguration of "Wool Week" last Wednesday. The objective is to increase the home consumption of wool, and (ho Department of Industries and Commerce is co-operating with the scheme. With tho approach of winter and the wet season tho time is opportune for a campaign such as this, and the slogan already seen by thousands, "Wear wool for health and help to bring back prosperity," should materially assist in stimulating a demand.
Well-arranged displays arc attracting many people to the windows of leading drapers and importers, and tho wide range of articles to be seen there gives one a new insight into tho multitude of uses to which wool can bo put. Working examples of spinning, weaving and knitting are given before crowds of interested spectators, who in this way becomo educated to the good qualities of the commodity. From earliest infancy human beings stand in need of warmth and protection, and in these times, when economy is tho ruling object in tho household, a home-made garment of wool not only supplies that, but also advantage is gained from its good wearing
