rr In 1920 Mr. C. R. L. Fletcher, the distinguished Oxford wrote what he called "n. brief sketch of the Great War, of which I lie Times wrote: " We shall treasure and i-i-xad ih:s book long after more elaborate ireatises have been forgotten." The book now appears in a second edition with a new preface, in which Mr. Fletcher corrects some of the statements lie made eleven years ago, and which the passage of time has caused him to modify.
