ROMANTIC CAREER.
Mr. R. W. Thompson, whose first book, "Argentine Interlude," describes his experiences on a remote South American cattle ranch, was a marine worker at Lloyd's until, at the age of twenty-one, he threw up his job and went to sea on an old tramp steamer. Afterward he found it impossible to settle down in England, so lie sailed tor Australia. lie worked on a New .South Wales sheep station, and in Sydney as a salesman and as a broker He worked his passage back to England us assistant butcher's mate on a third-class liner. Now he is writing a book on his Australian adventures.
