A VARIED PROGRAMME. PEOPLE'S DAY AT SHOW. Many sporting attractions have been arranged for the week-end in Auckland, principal among which is People's Day at the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Metropolitan Show. Cricket competitions will be continued under the control of the Auckland and Suburban Associations, matches under the auspices of the former being confined to one day owing to rain last Saturday.
The final of the Caro tennis cup competition will be held at the Stanley Street courts this afternoon between Eernuera and Eden and Epsom. A commencement will also be made with the secondary schools' tennis championships, the boys' competitions starting at Stanley Street at nine o'clock and the girls' matches at Windmill Eoad at the same time.
The fifth round of the pennant bowling competition will be decided at the various greens, and the principal yachting attraction is the annual regatta at Northcote and Birkenhead.
