LEAGUE OF NATIONS.
METHODIST SYNOD SUPPORT. At its concluding session, the Auckland Methodist Synod passed unanimously the following resolution on international affairs:—" That this Synod, impressed by the urgent need to lessen the grave risk of international war and to foster the fraternal co-operation of all peoples, voices its conviction that the .League of Nations offers the most effective means of achieving 'these desirable ends, notwithstanding the aloofness of a few considerable Powers and the failure of the League to prevent strife in the OrientIt therefore approves the established policv of active participation in the work of the League' by. the New Zealand- Government, enjoins on adherents of the Church a studious interest in that work and especially a prayerful concern for the success of the forthcoming Disarmament Conference summoned by the League, and commends to them individual sifpport of the league" of Nations Union in its associated efforts to promote that study and deepen the .spirit; of international fellowship." - -
