FATAL FALL OF ROCK.

WORKER AT ARAPUNI

[from ottr own correspondent.] HAMILTON. Thursday. A fatal accident occurred at Arapuni at 7.50 p.m. yesterday, when Mr. Harold Siguard Hansen, aged 23, a tunneller, was killed. Mr. Hansen was operating a breaker or popper drill in a valve shaft of the diversion tunnel when a piece of rock weighing half a ton became dislodged and pinned him against the drill. His chest was crushed and he died immediately. Mr. Hansen was a single man, and was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. P. G. Hansen, of Lake Road, Frankton. He was well-known in Hamilton and was formerly a bus driver. He had been at Arapuni for six months.
