SERVICE FOR EDUCATION.
SENIOR INSPECTOR'S WORK. TRIBUTES ON RETIREMENT. [from our own correspondent.] OHTTRA, Thursday. A representative meeting of teachers from all the schools within 20 miles of Oh lira was held this week tc'farewell the senior inspector for the Taranaki Education Board, Mr. N. R. McKenzie, who is retiring at the end of this year. Inspectors Hawke and Henry were also present. Mr. Takle, president of the Ohura branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute, who presided, said that all regretted Mr. McKenzie's retirement. It was hoped that he was not retiring from an active part in educational work,>- for his world-wide experience and learning would be lost to the Dominion. Other speakers paid warm tributes to Mr. McKenzie's services to education, wide experience and tact. ' Mr. McKenzie, in the course of his reply, related some of the incidents and changes which had occurred during his 19 years' experience of the King Country.
