WELLINGTON INVESTITURE*

HONOUR FOR SIR R. H. RHODES.

An investiture of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem took place at Government House to-day when the GovernorGeneral, Lord Bledisloe, decorated the following:— Knight of Justice.—Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, chairman of the Dominion Executive.

Officer of the Order.—Dr. J. S. Elliott, chairman of the Wellington Association, and lecturer for many years. Serving Brother.—Dr. L. A. Line, corp« surgeon. „ -

Serving Sister.—Mrs. Annie Helyer, associated with the nursing division sine® 1908.

In the course of his address, Lord Bledisloe said a commandery of the order was now about to be established in New Zealand, with the appointment of Sir Heaton Rhodes as its Knight Commander. "His appointment to-day as'-'Knight of Justice' gives him precedence of rank in New Zealand," said Lord Bledisloe, "and that is the highest honour which can be conferred in connection with the order. He is at present the only person who will enjoy that distinction in this country. : "-
