THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.
VISIT TO TE AWAMUTU. NEXT WEEK'S ARRANGEMENTS. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AWAMUTU. Thursday. Te Awamutu has not had an official visit from Vice-Regal representatives for several years, but the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, and the Lady Bledisloe propose to visit Te Awamutu on Tuesday. The Mayor, Mr. C. G. Downes, received advice to this effect to-day and is making arrangements for a civic and public reception. Their Excellencies will spend a few days at the Waitomo Caves hostel from Sunday.' It is probable that while at Te Awamutu they will be shown over the historic St. John's Anglican Chnrch, erected about 80 years ago, and other places of interest, including the site of the Orakau battlefield, four miles away.
