ST. DAVID'S CHURCH.
CALL TO REV. W. B. BLACK. A call from the> congregation of Stj David's Presbyterian Church to th» Rev. W. Bower Black, of St. Paul's Church, Christchurch, was sustained by a special meeting of Presbytery held yesterday afternoon. In the absence of the moderator, Mr. S. J. Harbutt, the Rev. Iv. H. Hunt presided. Speaking on behalf of St. David's, Mr. J. Fleming reported that, the call had been signed by 373 members and' 67 adherents. Of the 42 office bearers every member of session and every manager save one were supporting the call. It was stated that the stipend offered was £550, with £IOO car allowance. The Presbytery unanimously agreed to sustain the call, jind to forward it to Mr. Black through the Christchurch Presbytery. The Eev. J. L. Robinson and Mr. W. H. Rose were appointed to support the call at Christchurch Presbytery. A commission was appointed to arrange for the induction of Mr. Black should he agree to accept.
