NINTH ANNUAL BALL.

SHIPPING OFFICERS' GUILD. A most successful ball was held last evening by the Shipping Officers' Guild at the Symondsvllle Studio. The hall decorations were very attractive. Hanging streamers and balloons interlaced with coloured bulbs of electric lights made an effective background for the many pretty frocks to be seen on the dance floor. The supper tables were arranged with bowls of Iceland poppies and asparagus ferns. The dance music was played by the Dixieland orchestra, under Mr. H. Ncilson. Among those present were:—Mrs. Turner, who wore a frock of black satin beaute; Mrs. Harold Carr, buttercup satin and georgette; Mrs. Swanson, blue shot taffeta; Mrs. S. Eddowes, floral taffeta; Mrs. R. Beck, green floral ninon; Mrs. D. Berry, black and green floral ninon; Mrs. J. Mence, floral satin; Mrs. C. Robertson, cherry embossed georgette; Miss G. Bird, gold net and lace; Miss M. Irvine, white georgette and satin; Miss Bradley, black souple satin; Miss Becks, delft blue satin; Miss Roberts, phlox pink satin; Miss E. Walker, shell pink georgette; Miss N. Aickin, white georgette; Miss E. Sumner, lemon georgette; Miss Grahame, black georgette; Miss Olga Macduff, green floral georgette; Miss R. Menzies, blue shot taffeta; Miss Biss, plum shaded velvet; Miss M. Woods, white crepe de chine; Miss B. Nash, ciel blue sajtin; Miss Jean Gillies, ivory taffeta; Miss Phoebo Norris, blue and pink taffeta; Miss D. Lewis, green georgette; Miss R. Percy, pink floral georgette; Miss J. Sheppard, green satin beaute; Miss M. Innes, red satin and georgette; Miss R. Middleditch, black lace; Miss N. McGrath, lemon georgette; Miss M. Tattersall, white lace; Miss C.
