WOMEN'S DIVISION.
FARMERS' UNION
The June meeting of tlio l'utaruru branch of (lie Women's Division of the Farmers' Union was presided over by Mrs. Campbell. It was reported that during the month a very successful dance was held in the Town Hall. Good music and supper, provided by the members, helped to make this dance one of the most enjoyable held in Putaruru this season. Of the proceeds £5 will be sent to the community chest and the balance retained for the general fund. A pleasant afternoon was spent with competitions and music, after which afternoon tea was served, Mesdames Scott, Robinson and Leslio being the hostesses. OPOTIKI. The Opotiki branch of the women's division of the Farmers Union met iccently. Mrs. P. Jennings gave an interesting demonstration 011 making ornaments out of odd scraps of cardboard and silk. A good assortment of articles was on the sales table, and all were readily disposed of. The meeting closed with afternoon tea. TOKOROA. A meeting of the Tokoroa branch of the Women's Division, Farmers' Union, was held recently. The following officers were appointed: —President, Mrs. A. Slope; advisory members, Mesdames Lory and Wallace; vice-presidents, Mesdames Mossop and Thomson; secretary, Mrs. F. Flavall; committee, Mesdames Ashworth, H. Blair, Cadman, Carruthers, Newell, Nicholson; librarian, Mrs. Colson. A short talk on burns, poultices and fomentations was given by Miss Lory, and afternoon tea was served by Mesdame? Cadman, Carruthers and Colson.
