AUCKLAND CABARETS.

PETER PAN,

There were many charming frocks worn at the Peter Pan Cabaret on Saturday cvoning and these were given an effective background by tho dainty lighting effects. A graceful demonstration of the slow foxtrot and the. quickstep was given by Aliss Alavis O'Connor and Air. Griffiths, and excellent music was played by the Peter Pan Orchestra.

Kay, black lace gown; Airs. S. Armiger, apricot moire velvet; Mrs. A. W. Allan, scarlet embossed georgetto; Airs. E. Alorfete, shell pink satin; Aliss Jean Gordon, apple green satin; Aliss Pat Buddie, mist blue moire taffeta; Aliss Alargaret O'Connor, floral georgette; Aliss Freda Gaudin, flame georgette; Aliss Alavis O'Connor, midnight blue lace frock; Aliss Horton, red and gold embossed ninon; Aliss Norah AlcArthur," ivory and gold spotted taffeta; Aliss Shirley Frater, floral organdie; Aliss Kitty llorsley, cameo pink georgette; Aliss" Seth Smith, floral ring velvet; AlissAudrey Walton, green and silver beaded georgette; Aliss Janet Wallace, ciel blue taffeta.

MISS SPENCER'S DANCE. A bright and enjoyable evening was spent at the Symondsvillo Studio on Saturday when Miss Spencer held her weekly dance. Mr. Gordon Cornes and Mrs. Mayfair s orchestra supplied the music, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the large attendance of dancers. Among those present were : —Mrs. Spencer, who wore a black and gold velvet frock; Mrs. Stewart, deep peach pink taffeta; Mrs. Frank Lewis, white georgette with diamante; Mrs. Williams, black georgette heavily beaded; Miss Spencer, deep orange georgette with silver lace and silver coatee; Miss A. Stewart, pale shell pink satin and georgette; Miss Olive Thomas, flared white satin with cerise velvet, coatee; Miss Ray Wickham, Nile green floral taffeta; Miss Edna Wickham, coral pink georgette with sequinned trimming; Miss May Threlkeld, beige lace over cameo pink crepe de chine with rose pink coat-; Miss Dolly Robinson, claret red satin beaute; Miss E. King, black net over crepe de chine; Miss D. King, petunia georgette with deep hem of forget-me-not blue lace; Miss E. Nichol, azure blue georgette and lace; Miss Kate McLean, eau do nil taffeta with silver lame coatee trimmed with white fur; Miss D. Betson, flounced powder blue taffeta; Miss Gwilliam, black georgette and lace; Miss Ena Robertson, black georgette, finished with hand-made flowers; Miss Connie Knox, pale apricot georgette with silver and blue tissue coatee. DIXIELAND.

Dixieland presented o scene of gaiety on Saturday night. Multi-coloured lanterns around the dance floor and the revolving crystal bowl ill the contl'o shed a soft glow over the dancers, showing to advantage the many charming frocks that were worn. Palms and greenery were arranged in the vestibule and early winter (lowers that were placed on the tables gave a delightful fragrance. Among those present were: —Sirs. Gamble, who wore cornflower blue satin; Mrs. J. Johnstone, blue satin and net; Mrs. Crawford Watson, .floral chiffon; Miss Greta Heron, black beaded georgette; Miss Ballantyric, white georgette; Miss Eilleen Wainhouse, white net and velvet; Miss Pountney, ivory satin; Miss I. Jeffs, green organdie; Miss Mavis Stokes, (lame velvet; Miss Ruth Jenkin, green georgette; Miss 1. Brown, white ninon; Miss Rodgers, green moire taffeta; Miss fsabel Davies, orange fisher net; Miss Helen Hilicoat, lemon taffeta: Miss Rhoda Murphy, flame satin; Mrs. Wilson, floral ninon; Mrs. Lasher, green taffeta; Miss R. Wylie, pink satin j Mrs. Cox, peach satin; Miss 8011, lemon taffeta.
