RELIABILITY TRIAL.
DECLARATION OF RESULTS. SEVERAL " HIGH PLACINGS. SECOND TEST PROPOSED. The results of the motor reliability trial held on May 23 by the Auckland Auloniobilo Association were reported last evening at a meeting of the Competitions Committee. A difficult test was afforded cars and drivers on tho journey on a roundabout route between Auckland and Waiwera, a distance of about 150 miles. fn the plaeings made, the mileage per uallon of |>rtrol did not constitute the final points, which were decided on a tonmileage basis, the weight of the car and ils occupants being considered with the mileage per gallon in arriving at a formula result. Mr. R. E. Champtaloup, touring manager of the association, stated last evening that the benefits of the trial had fully justified the enterprise. Tho association now hoped to organise a trial of a more comprehensive nature, to be held early in the spring.
