LIQUOR AFTER HOURS.
CHARGE IN POLICE COtURT. On a charge of selling liquor after hours at the Royal Hotel, William Rcilly, son of the licensee, was fined £5 by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday. Charges preferred against the licensee, John Rcilly, of keeping his premises open for the sale of liquor after hours and of selling liquor after hours were dismissed.
On the application of counsel, Mr. Me. Liver, the fine imposed on William Rcilly was subsequently increased to £5 Is to enable an appeal to be made. The prosecutions were tho outcome of a visit made to the hotel by two police sergeants at an early hour on the morning of April 11.
