SHOP-LIFTER CAUGHT.
PURSUIT IN CITY STREET. DOMESTIC CONVICTED. A domestic, Olive Foley, aged 46, pleaded guilty in the Police Court yesterday to a charge of stealing a quantity of towelling, valued at 7s, from a city shop " On Monday afternoon Constable Du Temple saw accused running down Newton Road with a shop assistant after her," said Detective-Sergeant Kelly. "Accused dropped a roll of towelling in the street and was apprehended by the constable. Nothing else is known against her." *■
Major Annie Gordon, of the Salvation Army, said drink was accused's trouble. The magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, convicted accused and ordered her to como up for sentence when called upon within six months. She was also directed to take out a prohibit ion order.
