ST. ROLLOX, GLASGOW. LABOUR RETAINS SEAT. LONDON, May 8. The by-election for St. Rollox, Glasgow, rendered necessary by the death of the former Labour member, Mr. J. Stewart, resulted as follows: —■ Leonard (Labour) .. r . v t.. 10,044 Kennedy (Conservative) .. >.8,662 Campbell (Scottish Nationalist) ... 3,521 Labour Majority .. ~.. 1,382 At the last general election the polling for the St. Rollox £eat resulted as follows:—J. Stewart (Labour), 19,445; A. N. Forman (Conservative), 11.430; G. W. Middleton (Communist), 613; Labour majority, 8015.
