EXPANSION IN CHINA.
LOW PRICES FOR TIMBER.
SHANGHAI, May 9
The Soviet invasion of Shanghai and the Middle Yanglse Valley markets is in earnest. Following on two shipments of oil and consignments of piece goods tho arrival of a shipment of Siberian lumber shocked the timber markets, as the Russian prices defy local competition. Serious effects are expected from a continuance of the Soviet dumping, on account of the tremendous building activities in China.
