ATTITUDE OF GOVERNOR.
TOTAL CASUALTIES SIX.
British Wireless. RUGBY, May 8. The cruiser London, on which during the recent revolt in Madeira the insurgent officers and some civilians took refuge arrived at Portsmouth to-day. ~
When the London was welcomed at Portsmouth it was ascertained that the Governor of Madeira, Senor M. de Freitas, played the game, in spite of his age, and refused to fly and take refuge. lie locked himself up when the 1 -Lisbon forces resumed control.
The total casualties in the fighting were six killed, ancl a house was wrecked by a shell.
