ELLERSLIE TRAINING.

CANDIDATES FOR PUKEKOHE. I GOLD MONEY SPRINTS NICELY. BRAMPTON ALSO WORKS FREELY. Steady rain set in shortly after the gates opened at Ellerslie yesterday and training operations were carried out under very unpleasant conditions. Some interesting work was performed by candidates for the Franklin meeting and among those to stride along pleasingly were Gold Money and Sir Mond. Nearly all the galloping was accomplished on the course proper, where the (lags were out COft., but the going was soft and the times recorded were slow. On the course proper Cold Money (light boy) hit out with plenty of freedom for five furlongs in I.G 3-5. She was running on well nt the end and will strip in good nick to contest the Hnrrisville Flying Handicap to-morrow. Gold Money's prospectß appear very bright. Desert Star (Chaplin) was indulged in a working gallop over five furlongs in 1.12 3-5. This novice hns shown speed on the tracks, but he makes a slight noise when working and that is not altogether encouraging. With a fair weight in tho saddle, Gold Lily reeled off four furlongs in 545. Gold Lily looks nono the worse for her exertions at Whangarei and she may again race well in the second division of the Pukekawa Hack Handicap at Pukekohe Usually she has run her best rrrrrs on soft tracks and the conditions to-moruw may be right to her liking.

Te Money and Stimulant. Te Money (Campbell) finished iust ahead of Stimulant (Gall) at the conclusion of five furlongs in 1.9 3-5. They both worked solidly, particularly Te Money, who has made good progress lately. Te Money should ho capable, of a solid effort with her light weight in the Puni Hack Handicap at Pukekohe. Sir Mond (McCurdy) and Semi-circlo (Murray) wore associated over a circuit in 2.17 2-5. They ran the last seven furlongs in 1.42 and the last four furlongs in 57 l-ss. Sir Mond did his work well and was under restraint at the finish. Semi-circle alsff went in good style for ti horse in his class and is undoubtedly on the improve. Dark Prince (Campbell) jumped two hurdles boldly and afterwards went seven furlongs in 1.43. Dark Prince has been doing well lately find should run a good ruco in tho Bombay Hurdles to-morrow. Silent Miss (Murray) sprinted three furlongs in 40 2-ss. Silent Miss has been shaping fnirly well on tho tracks and will be a runner in tho Te Kohanga Handicap at Pukekohe. Catoma (Wiggins) ran his first three furlongs in 41 l-os und completed seven furlongs in 1.39 1-5. Catoma is coming on splendidly and should do well at the winter meetings Manawhenua and Wild 1 Country were associated over a mile in 1.50 4-5. running the first half in 54s and the second in sti 4 : 55. Manawhenua was on the outside and going really well at the end, while Wild Country also "shaped well for one in her class. \\ ith the going soft. Manawhenua may be a very difficult horse to beat in the Pukekohe Cup to-morrow. , Hawthorn and Bonny Mumble covered four furlong 3 in 53 2-ss, and Royal Gallant, who followed some lengths behind, ran the same distance in 53 3-ss. Royal Gallant was going well within himself at the finish. He will bo ridden by H. Gray at Pukekohe to-morrow.

Taneriri and Tetrarchate. Taneriri (Chaplin) and Tetrarchate (Parsons) were on terms at the conclusion of six furlongs in 1.23 1-5. They both worked nicely and appear to be all tho better for the racing they had at Whangarei. Tetrarchate is a possibility in the l'aeruta Handicap to-morrow. , . , Sub-Editor pleased better than Lmted over four furlongs in 53 3-sa. Lmted did not appear to relish tho going and failed to work as well as he has been doing, rorm suggests that United's prospects in tne Je Kohanga Handicap at Pukekohc are r O3 ?- but yesterday's eflort indicates that a soft track will not be to his advantage. Neil. Tambourine and Brampton were responsible for seven furlongs in -"*• They finished together, but Brampton, on the outside, was finishing much more strongly than his companions. Brampton is in great heart, but liis chance in the lukekohe Cup may be seriously affected it tne tr On the S °No. 2 grass Full Measure was not asked for his best to run five furlongs in 18 4-5. Full Measure is progressing favourably for G, Holland and is carrying m improved appearance. Brown Prince and Scotland lard covered five furlongs in 1.9 Tfaese nov.ces are showing improved condition and will be ready for a race shortly. Scaramouehe Jumps Well. Rafllight ran four furlongs in C 3 3-5s and Royal Action covered the same ground in "'fliily Boy finished clear of St. Lucas at tho end of three furlongs in it i" O3 - „ . Scarnmouche (Campbell) and c '® sr bS ' i'urdle7 atS IWn V Be\ut" "enc e ed fairly well but General Lu did not impress Tnej -11 clear in 1.28.
