CHANGE AT NORTHCOTE. MAYOR NARROWLY DEFEATED. The polling at Northcote was as heavy as any previously recorder!, and the retiring Mayor, Mr. A. E. Greenslade, was defeated bv the narrow margin of six votes by Mr. 11. Martin, who has been a member of the Borough Council for the past four years. There were ten candidates for the nine seats on the Borough Council, all the five retiring members", who stood being reelected. Over 1000 electors voted out of a total of 1645 on the roll.
