STRUGGLE WITH POLICE.

MAN SUSPECTED OF THEFT.

ARREST MADE IN STREET.

Difficulty with the arrest of a man, aged 33, who was suspected of the theft of a quantity of jewellery valued at about £SO, was experienced by Detectives Moore and Hayes in Karangahape Road yesterday morning. The detectives were in a motor-car near a shop awaiting the arrival of th* man. When he appeared they closed upon him. Although a one-armed man, he struggled violently and a crowd of people collected on the scene. It was with much difficulty that the detectives were able to arrest the man and take him to the police station.

The man will appear in the Police Court this morning on a charge of breaking and entering a house in Merrivale Avenue, Epsom, and stealing a ring.
