DEMANDS OF AGITATORS. SIR JOHN MONASH'S VIEWS. MELBOURNE, April 6. Lieutenant-General Sir John Monash, member of the Commonwealth Council of Defence, has returned -from India, where he represented Australia at the inauguration of New Delhi. Sir John expressed the opinion that peaco in India is still a long way off. If those who were agitating succeeded in their demands India would be able to make treaties with other countries which would deprive the Empire of its commercial safety.
