ALPINE SPORTS CLUB.
SOCIAL EVENING. A varied programme comprising two lecturettes and a number of musical items, followed by dancing and bridge, was presented at the club evening held by the Alpine Sports Club in the Lewis Eady Hall yesterday. The vice-president, Mr. F. E. do Guerrier, welcomed the guests. The last of a series of naturegraphs, which have been a popular feature of the club evenings during the last few months, was given by Mr. N. H. Good. Other items on the programme comprised the songs "Roadways" (Herman Lohrs), by Mr. Geoffrey Laird, and "Mia Piccirella" by Mrs. Freda Evans; violin solo, "Roumanian Air and Gipsy Dance (Albert Sammons), by Miss Helen Gray; humorous sketch, " A Gockney Girl at the Talkies," by Miss Hilda Morse; and an instrumental trio, " Hungarian Dance," No. 5 (Brahms), by Mrs. Freda Evans, Miss .Tean Clarkson and Miss Helen Gray. Miss Jean Clarkson acted as accompaniste. Among those present were: —Mrs. Laird Thomson, who wore a frock of floral ninon with a black flowered shawl; Miss Edna Bowell, shell pink georgetto with a taffeta hip bow; Miss B. Zoeller, black lace and georgette; Miss H. Phillipson, pjnk floral chiffon; Miss Mavis Stokes, pompadour pink chiffon velvet; Miss Rentoul, shell pink taffeta with a powder blue yoke; Miss Odell, hlack georgette; Miss Jean Clarkson, primrose taffeta; Mrs. F. Evans, white georgetto embroidered in silver; Miss Helen Gray, black georgette; Mrs. J. Ivay, primrose satin; Miss Good, sea green taffeta; Miss E. Knight, green floral chiffon; Miss R. Whitton, autumn-toned floral chiffon; Miss G. Faulbaum, cyclamen taffeta with a tulle hem; Miss Joyce Millar, jade green floral ninon; Miss Doris White, buttercup georgette; Miss Rapson, cocoa brown velvet with a yellow floral design; Miss E. Warm, rose spotted chenille georgette with a fische net hem; Miss Hilda Morse, white sprigged georgette over pink taffeta; Miss B. Browne, autumn-toned floral ninon; Miss Kinnear, black georgette: Mrs. K. M. Griffin, gold floral tnffeta; Miss Jackson, white satin bordered with white fur; Miss Miriam Harrison, flowered organdie; Miss Doreen Harrison, a'.mond green georgette; Miss Ethna Hatswell, floral crepe de chine; Miss Beryl Hatswell, apple green moire with a georgette collar.
