ST. MARY'S HOMES.
ANNUAL OPEN DAY. The annual open afternoon and sale of work and produce, held at St. Mary's Homes, Otahuhu, on Wednesday, was a most successful affair. This yearly effort on behalf of tho Homes invariably meets with a generous responso from tho public, and the attendance this year was in keeping with former occasions. Despite the rather bleak weather, largo numbers of visitors availed themselves of the opportunity to see the grounds- and the interior of tho Homes, which were open to all.
The sale was formally declared open by Canon Fancourt, of Auckland. Numerous stalls offering goods and produce were erected invthe grounds and good business was done. Afternoon tea was served at tables set up on the verandahs of the Home. The ladies assisting at tho stalls were as follows: —Fancy goods and needlework, Sister Cadell, Mrs. Wooley, Mrs. McKay and Miss Reid; cakes, Mrs. Keeble and Mrs. Abbott; produce, Mrs. Gatt, Mrs. Christini, Mrs. McLaren and Miss Shipp; jams and preserves, Sister Dorothy and Miss Dawson; sweets, Mrs. Toole, Mrs. Woolidge; teas, Mrs. Day, Mrs. Kent-Johnston, Mrs. Lovell and Mrs. Mouton.
