CHARGE OF THEFT LAID

DUPLICATE KEY ALLEGED

[from our own correspondent.] WELLINGTON, Tuesday.

Allegations of having stolen £162 from the strong room of Csish Orders, Ltd., by using a duplicate key which he had had made, were made against Richard George Clifton who was charged with the theft in the Wellington Police Court, to-day. Clifton pleaded not guilty. Accused, who is a canvasser, aged 20, <vas commited to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was allowed in his* own bond of £2OO and one surety of £2OO or two of £IOO. A condition was made that he report daily to the police.
