MAWSON EXPEDITION.
PRAISE FROM AMERICA. WHALE FISHERY RESEARCH. (Received December 28. 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, Dec. 27. The New York Times in a long article praising the care with which Sir Douglas Mawson's expeditions are prepared, and the scientific standing of the personnel, says: "It is no secret, that Australia particularly has an economic interest, in these explorations. Britain is becoming a rival of Norway in the whale fisheries."
