FAIR AT TAKAPUNA.
A fair in aid of the Takapuna Band and tho Western Area ratepayers, organised by Mrs. J. C. Blomfield, was held in the Foresters' Hall, at Takapuna,. yesterday Tho Mayor and Mayoress, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Williamson, opened tho function and little Desna Blomfield presented Mrs. Williamson with u- bouquet of early summer flowers. A novel idea was introduced in tho stall decorations, each stall representing a certain colour and note of music, tho stallholders wearing caps and aprons to correspond with their stalls. The following ladies wore in charge:—Christmas tree, the ladies of tho Community Sunshine Association including, Mrs. Kerr, Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Marsh, Mrs. Rollo, Mrs. Murdock and Mrs Everiss; flowers, Mrs. Keesing, assisted , by Mrs. Burgess, Mrs. Cooper and Mrs. Allnutt; plain arid fancy sewing, Mrs. Creamer, assisted by Mrs. Smithers/ Mrs. Carrick, Mrs. le Clere, Mrs. Cook,_ and Mrs. Hunt; cakes, Mrs. Glover Mrs Brinsden, Mrs. Hickie and Mrs. Rambaud; cups and saucers, Mrs. George Winstono, Mrs. Ward, Mrs. Russell and Miss Marjorio )Vard; ice creams and drinks, Mr. and Mrs Findlay; books, Mrs. Tallentire; produce, bandsmen with Major Wilkie, >. Mr. Creamer and Mr. Hanna; sweets,' Mrs. Brown, Nurse Froude and Miss Banbury; tea room, Mrs. Galbraith, Mrs. Stevens, Mrs. Prutt, Mrs. Blackwell, Mrs Brandon, Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. Inkster; gas cooking demonstration, Miss Brown; sideshows, Bayswater men and bandsmen; mystery tent, Mrs, Reston and Mrs. Salmon; mock court, Mr. Bryce Hart. A cooking competition was judged by Mrs. J. W. Brown and Mr. Waltor Buchanan.
