CONFERENCE GAIETIES.
PREMIER AND MRS. FORBES. [FROM: OUR OWN" CORRESPONDENT.] LONDON, Oct. 17. The New Zealand Premier and Mrs. Forbes have had a fairly full social programme during tho past week. On Alonday Air. Forbes attended the annual reception of the Lord Chancellor at the House of Lords. Although this is held at mid-day it is popularly known as (he Lord Chancellor's breakfast. On Tuesday Air. and Airs. Forbes were the guests of Lord and Lady Parmoor at (ho Privy I Council Offices, Whitehall. Lord Parmoor is Lord President of the Council. On tho same evening Air. Forbes was at the banquet given by tho British Chambers of Commerce, tho Federation of British Industries and the Chamber of Shipping of tho United Kingdom. On Wednesday tho Prime Minister lunched with Alajor the Hon. J. .L Astor and tho board of the Times, and in (ho evening ho attended the Alotor Manufacturers' dinner. Airs. Forbes and Lady Sidey were tho guests of tho committee in council of tho overseas section of the Forum Club in (be afternoon. Airs. Forbes lunched with Ladv Shall at tho Carlton yesterday, and, with Lady Sidey, sho attended (ho At Homo of (he Victoria League in tho afternoon. Today Airs. Forbes and Lady Sidey are attending a luncheon given by Lord Sankey and Aliss Sankey at ]<l, Dean's Yard, Westminster Abbey, and to-night Mr. and Airs. Forbes will be tho guests of Air.'and Airs. Amery at a dinner party. They will bo the guests of Mr. Ramsay AlacDonald at Chequers at (bo week-end.
