ST. ANDREW'S SOCIETY.

FIRST ANNUAL BALL. Artistically decorated with pink cherry blossom and lycopodium, the Symondsville Cabaret made an attractive setting for the first annual dance held there by the St., Andrew's Society of Auckland last evening. Excellent dance music was supplied by Pritchard's Orchestra, and following the custom of the society the last waltz was danced to the tune of Auld Lang Syne, the nnlsic having been specially adapted. For those who preferred cards, bridge tables were set out at one end of the hall, and a thoroughly enjoyable evening was spent. Among those present were:—Mrs. J. Howie, who wore a frock of vieux rose crepe suede with a frilled skirt; Mrs. A. J. Muirhead, in peach floral satin; Mrs. A. Service, blue satin beaute; Mrs. Black, black georgette; Mrs. Tongue, black sequinned georgette; Mrs. A. McLaren, black floral ninon; Miss Iv. McGregor, powder blue taffeta with a scalloped hem of silver lace; Miss Lilian Lugton, primrose floral taffeta; Mrs. J. Stewart, black georgette with an ivory shoulder spray; Miss P. Ferguson, electric bluo taffeta; Mrs. J. Johnston, lavender satin; Mrs. P. Rothery, navy blue georgette and lace; Miss C. Foster, black taffota period frock: Mrs. Barker, pale pink georgette; Mrs. Cozens, black beaded georgette; Miss Douglas, black crepe de chine; Miss Gwen Rothery, pink floral georgette; Miss Myrtle Tongue, shell-pink chiffon with an uneven pointed hein. Miss Barber wore cameo pink georgette and cream lace; Miss Dawson, delft blue taffeta with a roso hip bow; Mrs. Lornie. black taffeta ornamented with a diamante buckle; Miss McGregor, flame crepe de chine; Mrs. Copsey, black lace with a figured ring velvet coatee; Mrs. Stark, black taffeta; Miss Mcintosh, white georgette trimmed with jade green ribbon; Mrs. Redfcrn, black and silver sequinned frock with a silver and diamante bridge coat; Mrs. Miller, beige lace over satin beaute; Miss L. Totman, ankle-length frock of powder bluo crepo fleuri with a taffeta hip bow; Miss Illiff, sunkist georgetto studded with diamante; Mrs. R. Loaning, citronne taffeta and floral ninon; Miss Stonham, orchid georgette with a pale pink shawl; Miss Firilay, shell-pink satin beaute; Miss Myra Browne, gold tulle over gold lame; Miss Wiles, powder blue ring velvet; Miss Service, electric blue satin.
