DOMINION-MADE GOODS.
The Birkenhead Women's Association was addressed by Miss Melville yesterday on the subject of encouraging New Zea-land-rnado industries. Mrs. McPhail, Mayoress, presided. Miss Melville spoke of the relation between tho manufacturing industries and unemployed workers and stressed the urgent need for women to buy New Zea-land-mado goods and so help,to decrease unemployment. She was followed in her speech with the closest attention by her hearers and at its close the following resolution was passed:—"That this association is strongly in favour of supporting Now Zealand industries and it is suggested that in order to encourage women to buy Dominion-made.goods a league of women bo forinod and a small badge bo issued to members."
It was decided to ask Mrs. Woods to bring tho matter before the- National Council of Women, ns being the most representative women's organisation, to sponsor the movement and to appeal to all patriotic women to join..
